Dr Daniel (Tappies) Joubert

Dr Daniel (Tappies) Joubert
Dr Daniel, known as Dr Tappies, completed his medical degree at University of Stellenbosch in South Africa, before immigrating to Australia in 2003 and obtaining his fellowship with the RACGP. Dr Tappies has worked in a variety of settings, including Emergency medicine and has a special interest in men’s health, paediatrics and chronic disease management.
He strives to provide his patients with high quality medical care and brings a sense of humour into practice. Dr Tappies is married to a Dietitian and father to 3 kids, all at Uni in 2023. He is a spear fisherman and loves a good game of tennis, as well as camping close to the beach; spots where fire is allowed is a bonus.

Dr Jeffery Chai

Dr Jeffrey Chai
Dr Jeffrey Chai (MBBS, FRACGP) graduated from the University of Queensland in 2005 and received his GP fellowship in 2012.
Dr Chai is committed to the health needs of his patients and is experienced in all aspects of General Practice, including chronic disease management, and enjoys seeing people from every age in life.
Dr Chai is qualified by Medicare to provide Acupuncture.
He has worked in a variety of Gold Coast hospitals as well as a GP in Maryborough before finding a home in Toowoomba. He is married and has two children.
He is a GP who speaks English, as well as Mandarin, Cantonese and Mal

Dr Peter Schindler

Dr Peter Schindler
Dr Peter Schindler (MBBS, FRACGP, DTM&H) graduated from Medicine in 1972 from the University of Queensland. He has a Diploma of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Practitioners and is experienced in all aspects of general practice.
Dr Schindler has practiced both in Australia and overseas and as Practice Principal at Toowoomba Medical Centre, he is dedicated to ensuring all patients of the practice are given the best possible medical care and attention.
He is best known for his experience and expertise in aged and geriatric care, skin care and minor surgery. Dr Schindler enjoys the variety of cases, conditions and people that general practice provides on a daily basis.
He is a father of four children and doting granddad to three granddaughters.

Dr Lawrence Wong

Dr Lawrence Wong
Dr Lawrence Wong (MBBS, FRACGP) graduated in Medicine from the University of Queensland in 2006.
His interests cover all areas of General Practice, including skin checks, minor procedures and Implanon Insertions.
He is experienced in doing Commercial Driver’s License tests and Pre-Employment Medicals (please note that we are unable to do drug testing and hearing tests).
Dr Wong has previously worked in Brisbane, Gladstone, Sydney and Gympie.
He is married to Dr Diana Tao and they have two children.

Dr Diana Tao

Dr Diana Tao
Dr Diana Tao (MBBS, FRACGP) graduated in Medicine from the University of Sydney in 2009.
Following her graduation she worked in Sydney hospitals, and as a GP in Gympie before she and her husband Dr Lawrence Wong moved to Toowoomba in 2014.
Dr Tao is a compassionate and caring doctor who enjoys working with all age groups, from babies and young children to the elderly. Her interests lie in Chronic Disease Management plans, Women’s health including Cervical Screening, insertion and removal of Implanon. She also has compassion and professional help for those suffering from Depression and Anxiety
Dr Tao is a mother to two children.

Dr Amani Savy

Dr Amani Savy
Dr Amani Savy (M.B.B.S, M.P.H., B.Nurs.) graduated from studying Medicine at Bond University in 2016. Prior to this she completed a Masters in Public Health at the University of Queensland and a Bachelor of Nursing at Griffith University.
Dr Savy worked as a Nurse for 15 years before starting her medical career at Toowoomba Base Hospital. During her first few years of being a doctor she enjoyed working in rural and remote areas and has decided to call Toowoomba home whilst she completes her General Practitioner training.
With her interest in public health, Dr Savy enjoys providing education to her patients about preventative health strategies and has a particular interest in performing skin checks due to skin cancer being of great concern in Australia. She also enjoys seeing children, having three children at home to look after, not to mention numerous other animals her family have on their hobby farm.
