How can I prevent these disease?
If you proactively managing your health including blood pressure and cholesterol whilst being more active it will help prevent chronic diseases in the future. The government encourages anyone between the ages of 45 and 49 years old to have a comprehensive assessment and try to identify any risk factor that can be treated and improved.
What is involved in health check?
There is a Medicare rebate to get a health assessment performed if you are within the age group. Often it involves doing an Electrocardiography (ECG), a Spirometry test to check lung health, a urine test and a physical examination.
