Do You Know Your Blood Pressure

Have you ever felt a bit lightheaded, or that your heart is pounding or shortness of breath?

These could be related to your blood pressure.

As blood circulates around the body, it presses against the walls of blood vessels and creates pressure in the large arteries – thus the name, Blood Pressure.

Knowing your blood pressure is important to helping understand your health. If you have been feeling unwell and have had increased blood pressure, it is important to speak to your doctor.

Toowoomba Medical Centre has recently purchased an Ambulatory Blood Pressure Machine (ABPM) which we are now able to offer to patients to take home for a 24-hour period to monitor and record their blood pressure fluctuations and help determine any potential health issues. This data will be reviewed by your doctor and then discussed with you at a follow up appointment.

This service will include a $100 out of pocket fee to our patients, however, the benefits can help outweigh the costs.
