Breast cancer affects anybody, at any age. Being the most commonly diagnosed disease in Australia, there are unfortunately 8 women each day who lose the battle.
Breast Cancer can affect 1 in 7 women and 1 in 675 men and develops from abnormal, multiplying cells within the breast tissue, and it can spread and metastasize to other parts of the body.
It is important that both men and women are educated on how to detect any changes in their breast, and no matter what age or gender, remember it is important to be ‘breast aware’.
If you notice a change, or detect a lump, make an appointment to consult with your doctor.
